What We Believe

The Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17

2 Peter 1:20-21

Hebrews 4:12

We believe that the Scriptures in all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, error free in the original manuscripts, and the supreme authority of faith and practice for believers. It is the standard by which we are to order our lives, express our faith, and function as a community.

God

Deuteronomy 6:4

We believe there is one living and true God, who is one in essence, while eternally existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

People

Genesis 1:26-27

Romans 1:18-32; 3:10-12

We believe that mankind was directly created in the image of God to enjoy His fellowship and fulfill His purposes on earth. In Adam all mankind fell into sin; consequently all people are spiritually dead and subject to the certainty of both physical and spiritual death apart from faith in Jesus Christ.

Salvation

John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6

Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. All who believe in Him are declared righteous by the Father on the basis of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, being regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

Water Baptism

Matthew 28:18-20

Romans 6:3-7

Baptism is a symbolic act in which a believer is immersed in water, representing the inward reality of new life in Christ. We offer the opportunity for believers to be baptized in water periodically throughout the year.

Communion

I Corinthians 11:23-29

Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation. Communion is offered in our Sunday morning worship service at least once a month.

The Future

Matthew 24-25

I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Jesus Christ will come again, which is the blessed hope of those who believe in Him. While we don’t know the precise sequence of events or the exact timing in history, the second coming of Christ will be both personal and visible. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, and we believe that God will one day judge all who have ever lived. This truth fills us with hope and motivates us to holy living, heartfelt worship, sacrificial service, diligent study of God’s Word, regular fellowship, and the sharing of the message of God’s grace with anyone and everyone we encounter.
